Ministry Moments: August Updates From Our Partner Parishes

"We have two groups doing a Bible Study, and it's been impressive that they have had such great participation for July. They expressed the desire for a Bible of their own that they can take notes in. With the grant, we were able to help purchase Bibles for the participants. They have enjoyed Lectio Divina much more!"

"I'm always amazed at how the Lord works. This month our family life coordinator had to resign as she was struggling juggling two jobs, and within just a few days of learning of her departure, a new volunteer came forward expressing a desire to serve in that capacity. God is good!"

"I recently had coffee with a young adult who is not of any faith. She expressed how it seemed as though she was being called to the Cathedral but didn't know why. After a two-hour conversation, she came and received a tour as well as our schedule for young adults. We have meet a couple of times since, and she (and her younger brother) not only have attended Mass the past three weeks at the Cathedral, but they are now both signing up for O.C.I.A. Praise Jesus."

"We had several young adults attend the National Eucharistic Congress, which was very impactful for them, which was incredible! We also had a big "Mass in the Grass" daily Mass in my backyard for over 50 young adults! It was awesome and perfect night!"

"I often bring communion to one of our homebound parishioners. On one of our recent visits, her family came into town. It was a moving experience to watch as we prayed our prayers and her family prayed along with us."

"I met with one of the Young Adult Initiative core team members. Her enthusiasm and commitment to this ministry was obvious. It gave me hope that the ministry is healthy and will continue despite new leadership."

"Our Spanish-speaking group has new committee members. One young lady is bilingual, rather tech savvy, and the new secretary for the group. This has already been so helpful in creating communication and connections with other young adults as well as with me and the committee. They are currently working on creating “business cards” that will be used to introduce and welcome new young adults to the group."

"A ministry moment that happened in July was going to Mellow Mushroom for trivia. We found out soon before that it was Legally Blonde themed, while it wasn’t any of our areas of expertise, it still lent itself to fellowship. We ate, laughed, and participated in community."
