PROGRAM OUTCOMES

Students who successfully complete a graduate specialization certificate in Systematic Theology will:

  1. Establish broad foundation of knowledge concerning core Catholic doctrines;

  2. Identify and draw on theological methods in order to construct a framework for studying theology.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Philosophical Foundations I or II, Ancient Philosophy, or Medieval Philosophy (3 credits). We recommend completing the philosophy requirement prior to other courses.

  • Theological Anthropology (3 credits)

  • Trinity (3 credits)

  • Christology (3 credits)

  • 6 additional credits selected from the Systematic Theology category (courses starting 10:xxx). Elective courses might include Philosophical Foundations for Theology, The Creed in History and Theology, Ecclesiology, Ecumenism, Interreligious Dialogue, Catholic Social Ethics, Intro to Liturgy and Sacraments, Eucharist, Directed Research Project, or other courses as approved by the Director of Graduate Theology Programs.
